Area students began receiving free haircuts and books on Wednesday courtesy of the Academy of Hair Design on Springhill Street in Jasper and the Pillars of the Community Organization.

The free haircuts and book giveaway will continue on Thursday from 8:30am to 2:30pm.

Pillars of the Community President Wretha Rawls was on hand Wednesday along with Jasper City Council Member Mamie Horn.
