Eminem is “approached on a constant basis about the idea of making a documentary on his career,” according to his manager, Paul Rosenberg.
The Detroit rapper has never been interested in that — until now.
“Stans,” a film about Eminem and particularly his relationship with his fans, screens Thursday through Sunday, Aug. 7-10, exclusively at AMC theaters. Directed by Steven Leckart (“Legendary: The True Story of the LA Lakers”) and produced by Eminem (nee Marshal Mathers III), Rosenberg, Antoine Fuqua and others, it uses his 2000 hit “Stan,” about an obsessed fan whose dedication goes tragically wrong, as a fulcrum to bring in real-life fans — known as Stans — to detail their deep and even profound passion for his work and the inspirations they’ve drawn from it.
