ALLEN PARK -- Detroit Lions rookie wide receiver Dominic Lovett had a productive preseason opener and has looked strong to open training camp.

But the seventh-round rookie is expected to miss the next week or so of training camp and the preseason. Lovett left Monday night’s practice early with what the team is calling an abdominal injury.

“Lovett may be 10 days, but they’re good,” Lions head coach Dan Campbell said Wednesday morning. “I mean it’s just going to take a minute.”

Lovett led the Lions with 36 offensive snaps in the Hall of Fame Game against the Los Angeles Chargers. He had some highs and lows, nothing surprising for a late-round rookie’s first taste of an NFL game.

Lovett caught five passes on a team-leading nine targets for 31 yards. He dropped his first target of the game
