Curstin Kaufman's rendition of "Skylark" soared to victory in the final evening of preliminary competition for Stage Door Idol 2025.
The preliminaries at The National WWII Museum wrapped Tuesday after four weeks of vocalists crooning tunes from the Big Band era in hopes of making it to the finals later this month.
A wildcard vocalist will be announced Thursday to bring the final tally to seven who will vie for the title on Aug. 19.
Kaufman's version of the Hoagy Carmichael-Johnny Mercer 1941 song (with lyrics aimed at Judy Garland) was selected by a panel of judges and the audience.
