(NewsNation) — Brooke Hogan, daughter of recently deceased WWE wrestler Hulk Hogan, did not attend her father's funeral Tuesday.

Hulk Hogan was estranged from his daughter for years prior to his death. Brooke Hogan said that while there was no "big fight," their estrangement was due to “a series of private phone calls no one will ever hear, know or understand."

Instead of attending the funeral, Brooke celebrated her father's life with her husband and newborn twins at the beach.

In an Instagram post the day of the funeral, she commented, "My father hated the morbidity of funerals."

Further down, she wrote, "I had to make my own decision to honor him the best and most genuine way I knew how ... privately... the way that made me feel the closest to him."
