A woman who was pulled from the chimney of a municipal building in San Fernando has specialists from the Los Angeles Fire Department to thank Wednesday morning.

Crews responded at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday to 208 N. Park Ave. after getting a report of a person trapped in a chimney atop an outbuilding at the San Fernando Recreation Center, said LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey.

The woman, thought to be about 30 years old, was found “conscious and alert” about three feet inside a small chimney, Humphrey said.

She was physically stabilized as LAFD specialists trained, equipped and certified in urban search and rescue arrived, he said.
