INDIANAPOLIS — A Lyft driver is facing charges after allegedly trying to kidnap a woman and her infant in Indianapolis . He is facing three counts of kidnapping and three counts of criminal confinement.

According to court documents, officers responded to the BP gas station located in the 3800 block of Mitthoefer Road around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5.

Police said they spoke with a woman at the gas station who said she and her 2-month-old son were almost kidnapped by a Lyft driver.

Court documents say the victim ordered a Lyft Tuesday afternoon from her home in the 3300 block of North Meridian Street and set the destination for a family member's home near the intersection of East 34th Street and North Sherman Drive .

The victim told police that she and her son were picked up at 3:13 p.m.
