Something that hasn't been as well publicized that's in the Big Beautiful Bill that was passed by Congress and signed into law by President Donald Trump is $1 billion for Bureau of Reclamation water storage and infrastructure projects.

In his message in the Friant Water Authority's eWaterline newsletter FWA executive director Jason Phillips is calling for that funding to go to “shovel ready projects” which he said includes projects involving the ongoing repairs of the Friant-Kern Canal.
