Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur stated in his pre-practice press conference that he won’t be calling plays this preseason. This has been a trend over his years in Green Bay, as he’s used the preseason as a play-calling showcase for the offensive assistants under him who are hoping to get play-calling opportunities elsewhere.
Considering that offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich received interest as a play-calling offensive coordinator last offseason, he’s a safe bet to at least get a good share of those shots this summer. So keep that in mind this preseason.
Speaking of preseason, today’s practice is the Packers’ penultimate camp practice before their opener against the New York Jets on Saturday. Thursday will be their last open practice before camp walls start to be built up.
