HOOKS, Texas (KETK) - Another local city has become a Sanctuary City for the Unborn.

The City Council of Hooks, which is in Bowie County, voted on July 21 to adopt an ordinance outlawing abortion within city limits.

The vote was unanimous, making Hooks the seventy-sixth Sanctuary City in the U.S. This movement started in Waskom back in 2019, and now there are 19 cities and one East Texas county on the list. • Athens • Avinger • Big Sandy • Brownsboro • East Mountain • Gary City • Gilmer • Grapeland • Joaquin • Latexo • Lindale • Murchison • Naples • Poynor • Rusk • Tenaha • Waskom • Wells • Camp County
