KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KAKE) - The suspect in the killing of Wyandotte County Deputy Elijah Ming could face the death penalty.

KMBC-TV reports that Wyandotte County District Attorney Mark Dupree has filed a capital murder charge against Shawn Harris. In a news conference last week, Dupree said Harris had been charged with capital murder and criminal possession of a firearm by a felon. Dupree noted, at the time, that he had 10 days to determine whether he would pursue the death penalty against Harris.
