HENDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (WEVV) — Scam callers are targeting community members who have loved ones incarcerated at the Henderson County Jail.
According to a post from the Henderson County Detention Center, scam callers posing as law enforcement have been contacting family members, claiming inmates can be released if a bond is posted. These scammers might have accurate information about inmates, making their claims appear legitimate.
Jail officials emphasized that bonds can only be paid in cash and must be posted in person. Payments should be made at the Henderson County Detention Center on Borax Drive or the Henderson Circuit Court Clerk’s Office on North Main Street.
Authorities say they will never request bond payments online or over the phone.
