EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — The Evansville Police Department and the Evansville Department of Parks and Recreation are hosting an event next weekend.

The Evansville Public Safety Car Show will be happening on Saturday, Aug. 16, from noon to 3 p.m.

The event will be happening at Wesselman Park, and is free for all.

"Come experience an exciting showcase of public safety vehicles! Check out police cruisers, fire engines, EMS units, and hospital helicopters, including a U.S. Army Blackhawk on display," EPD says.

Community members can also enter their own show cars to compete for the coveted "Best in Show" trophy.
