The Surprise Planning and Zoning Commission and the Surprise Arts and Cultural Advisory Commission are each under new leadership at the top for the next year.

P&Z commissioners on July 17 moved previous Vice Chair Ken Chapman into the chair role, replacing Jared Holland, who nominated Chapman.

Commissioner Anthony Spata was picked to the position of vice chair to replace Chapman.

In the arts commission, Crystal Kupper made a similar move up from the vice chair spot to the chair on July 30. She is replacing Charlotte Pullins.

Hassan Rasul was picked as the new vice chair of the commission.

All four selections in both commissions were unanimous.
