Where good news shines

Colorado soccer was picked to finish sixth in the Big 12 preseason poll Tuesday.

The Buffs had four players named to the preseason all-conference team: goalkeeper Jordan Nytes and juniors Faith Leyba, Ava Priest and Hope Leyba. Four teams put four or more players on the preseason list, including Colorado. BYU and Texas Tech had five.

TCU was predicted to win the Big 12.

Nytes is the reigning Big 12 Goalkeeper the Year. The Grandview High graduate was in net for Colorado's 11 shutouts in 2024. Faith Leyba was a first-team all-conference pick 2024, while Priest scored a career-high 12 goals. Hope Leyba led the Buffs with eight goals.
