Now in its 35th year, the Vancouver International Flamenco Festival returns with a weeklong celebration of fiery footwork, haunting vocals, and soulful music from around the globe. From September 20 to 28, the festival showcases both local and international flamenco artists through performances, workshops, and community programming across multiple venues.
Rooted in a blend of Sephardic, Persian, Gypsy and Indian cultures, flamenco continues to evolve while honouring its tradition. This year’s programming includes free outdoor events on Granville Island (September 20 and 21 at the Picnic Pavilion), where local artists will perform throughout the afternoon, and free introductory class
