CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Gavin Williams didn’t get the no-hitter but the Guardians did get the 3-game sweep with a 4-1 win over the Mets in New York Wednesday afternoon.

Williams took a no-hitter to the 9th but it was broken up by Juan Soto’s one-out homer.

Williams, 26, went 8.2 innings, throwing 124 pitches. He struck out six, allowed one hit and walked four.

Williams did get defensive help from rookie right fielder C.J. Kayfus in the 7th.

David Fry and Angel Martinez each homered to spark the Guards to an early 3-0 lead.

Gabriel Arias added an RBI triple.

Cleveland has won 7 of 8 games and 19 of its last 26.
