U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) is criticizing Democrats in the Texas Legislature who ran away to Illinois in an attempt to stifle Republicans’ attempts to change the district map in the state.
Democratic lawmakers fled to Illinois over the weekend, preventing the Texas House from having a quorum on Monday. This preventing the lawmaking body from voting on a new map that would heavily favor Republicans.
Moore discussed the issue Wednesday on WVNN’s “The Yaffee Program.”
“I mean, they were elected by the people,” Moore said. “They ought to have a right to draw the districts as the people see fit. They are the Vox Populi, the voice of the people. And certainly, the Democrats can’t win on policy, so they either suffer from [Trump Derangement Syndrome], or they take everything to court
