DES MOINES, Iowa -- Heavy rain fell in spots overnight, and we did have a few strong wind gusts as well. More storms will move through during the daylight hours on Thursday, especially in the morning. Dewpoints will continue to increase into the weekend, and heat indices will be in the neighborhood of 100 Friday and Saturday. Expect breezy conditions Friday.

We may also see some smoke reappear in the atmosphere Friday, this time from wildfires to the southwest of Iowa.
