CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A new curfew will be enforced across the City of Cincinnati for children under 18 years old.
Youth-related crime is an issue the city continues to face.
In response to this, city council voted unanimously to pass a set of modified ordinances that changes curfew times for minors, carves out a “Special Curfew District,” and creates a set of procedures police and community partners can follow if curfew is broken.
The new curfew is now 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. for juveniles city-wide every day.
Originally, the curfew times for minors was 10 p.m. for kids under 16 and midnight for teens 16 and 17 years old, however, city solicitor Emily Smart Woerner previously said it was difficult to enforce.
