CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Friday marked 48 years since 17-year-old Yvonne Regler disappeared in broad daylight on a busy street in a westside suburb.

Could she have been abducted without anyone even noticing?

Regler vanished on a cloudy summer day on August 8, 1977.

The North Olmsted teen was last seen at work filling in at a different gas station than usual that day on Lorain Road in Fairview Park, all by herself.

Police believe Regler went missing sometime between 1:30 and 2:00 in the afternoon.

There were no signs of a robbery, and at first, they thought she had run away.

Over the next few weeks, tips rolled in.

But nothing checked out.

As years passed, the leads started drying up.
