The proposal came during a meeting on Wednesday between Putin and U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff, according to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.

A White House official indicated that a meeting between Trump and Putin could be scheduled as soon as next week, although a location has not yet been determined. Leavitt stated that President Trump is “open to meeting with both President Putin and President Zelenskyy” and “wants this brutal war to end.”
