Thousands of grocery delivery drivers in the city are waiting to hear if they will get a pay bump and other work improvements.
The City Council passed a law last month aimed at improving conditions for nearly 20,000 workers driving for apps like Instacart and DoorDash. It includes increasing pay to $21.44 an hour and would mandate apps provide a tipping option.
Tom McNeil, senior manager for Government Affairs at Instacart, joined “The Rush Hour” to discuss the company’s opposition to the bill, which currently sits on the mayor’s desk.
City Hall says they are “reviewing the legislation.”
