BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- Repairs and projects in the Buffalo Public Schools, Main Street, the Buffalo Museum of Science and more are delayed due to inaction by the city comptroller, acting Mayor Chris Scanlon and other local officials said Wednesday.

Scanlon said the Buffalo Common Council passed an $110 million infrastructure plan in December 2024, but there has not been a "shovel in the ground" this capital budget year.

Investments include $55 million to Buffalo Public Schools for heating, lighting and more, $26.5 million for infrastructure projects on Main Street and Bailey Avenue, $3 million for firefighters and police and $2 million for cultural institutions.

The city comptroller has not bonded out for any of the projects, including bond anticipation notes, Scanlon said.
