MADISON COUNTY, Ill. - A man was sentenced Wednesday for firing shots at two Alton homes last year, narrowly missing a three-year-old girl.

Rondell L. Sanders, 32, of Alton, was sentenced to 14 years in prison. Sanders was recently convicted of convicted of two counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm and one count of obstructing justice in a jury trial.

“We will continue to seek stiff sentences for those who choose to terrorize our neighborhoods and put innocent lives at risk,” said Madison County State's Attorney Tom Haine via a news release. “This type of violence will simply not be tolerated in Madison County.”

Evidence and testimony at the trial revealed that, on May 22, 2024, Sanders had been involved in a feud with an individual who was residing at a home on Belle Street. That
