HUNTSVILLE, Texas (KBTX) - City of Huntsville officials have issued a Boil Water Notice on Wednesday, as required by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

In a release, the City of Huntsville stated that a fiber optic contractor struck an 8-inch water line, resulting in a drop in water pressure in the Elkins Lake Subdivision.

Water customers residing at 1808-1908 Greenway Dr. and 2153-2196 Greentree Dr. should boil their water before consumption, like when washing hands or face, brushing teeth, or drinking.

When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the public water system officials will notify customers that the water is safe for drinking or human consumption purposes, the release said.
