ST PAUL, Minn. — The Minnesota Supreme Court ruled that it is legal to have ghost guns - firearms without serial numbers - in certain situations.

The case stems from 2022, where a driver was found to have had a pistol he had assembled himself. He was charged with felony possession of a firearm without a serial number in violation of Minnesota Statutes section 609.667(3). However, court documents say he tried to have the case dismissed. When the district court looked at the case, they declared that the law was "unconstitutionally vague as applied."
