DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) -- A total of 13 people were charged in an alleged vehicle-title washing scheme involving high-end vehicles that were being brought from Florida to central Pennsylvania, court documents show.
According to Attorney General Dave Sunday, the criminal group known as the "Troncoso Organization" would take vehicles to notaries in Pennsylvania and present fake paperwork showing they were the owners.
Instead of waiting for the physical title to be mailed, the group would go in person to PennDOT's headquarters in Dauphin County to claim they never got the titles or they were stolen, the Grand Jury presentment filed in Magisterial District Judge Paul Zozos' office shows.
