Parents with students at a Kyrene district school closed because of issues with a roof repair and air quality expressed disappointment, concern and outrage directly to the governing board Tuesday night.
Parents got emotional in their statements to the board Aug. 5 after Kyrene de la Sierra elementary announced Sunday night it would close until October and relocate students to the Cerritos and Altadena elementary school.
Sierra students have been remotely learning since Monday, Aug. 4, and won’t return to the building until October, after the school’s two week fall break.
Parents were outraged over the transition and the lack of awareness of the smell they claim led to serious health issues.
