GALLATIN, Tenn. (WKRN) — A plan to revamp the downtown Gallatin area passed a crucial vote in the city council this week.

Project Phoenix would take Gallatin to a whole new level, bringing residential housing to the downtown area, adding a park, relocating Gallatin's fire department headquarters, and potentially add a new city hall.

Tuesday, Aug. 5, the city approved early concept plans for Project Phoenix in a 4-1 vote.

However, Gallatin Mayor Paige Brown said the city still needs a better understanding of the developer's plans.

They're asking the developer to clarify the plans for a new city hall before anything becomes official.

Brown told News 2 she was initially against a new city hall but has become more open to the idea.
