LITTLEFIELD, Texas -- On this day in 1996, officials arrived to a gruesome crime scene in Littlefield. Wednesday, August 6, 2025 marks nearly 30 years since the killing of Evangelina "Angie" Cruz at Jolly Roger's convenience store, a case there has been no true justice for yet.

That day, the Littlefield Police Department responded to the convenience store and found Cruz lying on the floor with gunshot wounds, EverythingLubbock.com previously reported. She was still alive when police arrived, just long enough to describe the suspects to them.

Based on the description Cruz gave, officers arrested two men that matched the description. Alberto Sifuentes and Jesus Ramirez were imprisoned for 12 years before a Lamb County Grand Jury dropped their charges, freeing them.
