LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Big industrial investments are coming to Kentucky.

Apple announced plans on Wednesday to partner with Corning to manufacture 100% of its iPhone and watch cover glass in Harrodsburg.

The $2.5 billion commitment is part of a major expansion to ensure for the first time, all of their cover glass will be produced in the U.S.

“Apple’s investment secured by President Trump is a major boost for Corning’s Harrodsburg plant, where hundreds of Kentuckians produce glass for iPhone and Apple Watches,” said Congressman Andy Barr. “ Now, our KY plant will produce all of the glass for these products. Thanks to President Trump’s tough trade policies and the Made in America tax credit in the Big Beautiful Bill that I supported, we are Making Manufacturing American Again!”
