WEBB COUNTY, Tex. (KGNS) - After years of planning, funding hurdles, and construction delays, Webb County officials say the long-awaited new administrative building for the Sheriff’s Office could finally open its doors by October 2025.

The project has been a topic of public interest since Webb County purchased the 48,000-square-foot building on Farragut Street in downtown Laredo in 2018 for approximately $4 million . Built in 1946, the structure once housed office spaces and even a grocery store before county leaders eyed it for redevelopment.
