Construction on the newest addition to SDSU Mission Valley is underway: The new Avalon Mission Valley multi-use project will create 621 apartments, a grocery store and shops right next door to Snapdragon Stadium.
“This is the beginning of what will be a whole new village in San Diego and in Mission Valley,” said Mark Janda, a senior vice-president for AvalonBay Communities. “Eventually, this will truly be a mixed-use campus.”
“We always said SDSU Mission Valley was going to be more than a football stadium,” said a smiling Gina Jacobs, SDSU”s vice-president for Mission Valley Development.
Avalon Mission Valley will be built in a portion of the existing Orange Parking Lot, right next to the stadium. Jacobs said the living components of SDSU Mission Valley will help offset the cost of bu
