COMPTON – In June 2026, City of Compton voters will cast their ballots to elect its mayor who is responsible for leading city council meetings.
Mayor Emma Sharif has began fundraising and has amassed over $31,000 in contributions during this last reporting period from January 2025 through June 2026. Sharif has previously served as Board Trustee on the Compton Unified School District School Board and represented District 4 on the city council.
According to filings on the city clerk’s website, Councilmembers Jonathan Bowers and Andre Spicer have filed to run against her.
According to published campaign finance reports, Bowers has reported contributions of more than $7,000 during the same filing period.
