AUSTIN, Texas — As Democrats continue to push back against an effort to redraw congressional districts, and Texas House Democrats remain out of the state to block a vote in that chamber on the proposed map, the Senate Redistricting Committee held a hearing on Wednesday to discuss the proposed map.
The Senate committee held a hearing, hoping to hear testimony from invited organizations and congressional Democrats about the proposed congressional district map. However, none of the individuals they had invited showed up, and the committee chair stated that most had not even responded to the invitation to testify.
