MINNEAPOLIS — Disgraced former Minnesota State Senator Justin Eichorn was back in federal court Wednesday.

Eichorn is accused of soliciting a minor for prostitution after a sting operation in Bloomington back in March.

During that sting operation, Eichorn and 13 other men were arrested by Bloomington police officers who were attempting to catch adults who were soliciting minors for sex.

During a pretrial hearing Wednesday morning, Eichorn's defense team argued that most of those men have been charged in state court with lesser charges.

Eichorn, however, is being tried in federal court with a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years.

His lawyers argue Eichorn is being unfairly singled out because he was a politician.
