NEW YORK (PIX11) -- As we get into the heart of the summer season, there is one date that parents need to keep in mind.

According to New York City’s Department of Education, the first day of the 2025-2026 school year will be Sept. 4. Parent-teacher conferences will kick off in mid-September.

The first break for students will be Sept. 23 and 24 for Rosh Hashanah.

The last day of school is June 26, according to the calendar.
