CHICAGO (WGN) — The 25th annual Chicago's Finest vs. Chicago's Bravest charity baseball game between the Chicago Police and Fire Department took place at Rate Field Wednesday night.
Opening ceremonies ahead of the game honored fallen members of Chicago's police and firefighter community. Those honored included officers Jim Crowley, Krystal Rivera and Enrique Martinez, along with fire captain David Meyer.
The ceremonial first pitch was thrown by Adrian Martinez—Enrique Martinez's father.
Proceeds from the game will benefit the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation (CPMF) and the Gold Badge Society (GBS).
The CPMF is a non-profit organization that honors the lives of Chicago police officers who died in the line of duty while also working to assist family members after their deaths. The GBS
