The New York City Campaign Finance Board has voted to deny Mayor Eric Adams’ campaign roughly $3 million in public matching funds.
The board says the campaign failed to provide proper documentation, adding it had “a reason to believe” the campaign had violated the law.
The Adams campaign previously lost after suing the board for denying it funds.
Meanwhile, his competitors, Curtis Sliwa, Zohran Mamdani and Jim Walden, all received funds.
Andrew Cuomo’s campaign says it did not file for funds because he was still deciding whether to run in the race for mayor during the past filing period.
Paul Ryan, the executive director of the Campaign Finance Board, joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Wednesday to discuss more.
