CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle crash that left one dead and another injured.

The incident occurred on US Highway 52 near Bethel Church Road around 7:04 a.m. on August 6.

Officials say a driver of a 2007 Chrysler sedan was stopped southbound on the highway while a 2010 Honda sedan was headed north. The Chrysler attempted to turn eastbound and the Honda struck them.

The driver of the Honda died at the scene, while the driver of the Chrysler was transported to the hospital for their injuries. Their condition is unknown at this time.

The crash remains under investigation.
