The FAA has announced a ground stop impacting all United Airlines flights destined for Chicago and numerous other major hubs around the U.S.
According to an alert on the FAA’s website, all United Airlines flights destined for Chicago have been halted at their departing airports.
As of 8:10 p.m., United flights departing from O’Hare were delayed an average of 90 minutes, according to the FAA.
Airports in Denver, Newark, Houston, and San Francisco are also impacted by the ground stops, according to the FAA.
In a statement to NBC Chicago, the company cites a “technology issue” behind the ground stop, and warns that additional delays are expected.
