The father of a 4-year-old boy who shot his mother in the arm has been charged by Snohomish County prosecutors with illegally storing dozens of guns around the Lynnwood home he shares with his two young children.

David Neff, 44, was charged last week with over a dozen counts in Snohomish County Superior Court of first-degree unlawful storage of a firearm, possession of an unlawful firearm, possession of explosive devices and reckless endangerment.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the 4-year-old and a 9-year-old were at home at the time of the shooting. Last month, Neff called 911 and reported he was asleep on the couch when the son took a Glock handgun out of the father’s holster, according to the document.
