A 53-year-old Kirkland semitruck driver died after he suffered an apparent medical emergency and crashed into a guardrail on Highway 520 in Bellevue early Friday morning, the Washington State Patrol said.
The truck was going westbound on Highway 520 approaching the Interstate 405 interchange around 3:35 a.m. Friday, according to a memo from the State Patrol.
The man lost control of his truck, causing it to strike the right shoulder guardrail. The truck rode the guardrail for several hundred feet before resting on the right shoulder, the State Patrol said.
Authorities did not say what kind of medical emergency the man suffered.
