GROVE CITY, Pa. - Disease tries to make its way into Mercer County once more. A third mosquito has been found in Mercer County carrying West Nile Virus (WNV).
According to a press release from Vector Disease Control International, which monitors mosquito activity in Pennsylvania, this is the third case in Mercer County and the second case specifically in Grove City.
No human cases have been reported in Mercer at this point. However, according to Vector, most people who contract WNV do not develop symptoms, which can make the disease more difficult to track.
However, severe symptoms can occur, including fever, body aches, vomiting, nausea and rashes, which can be especially dangerous for people over 60 years old or those with compromised immune systems. Those who don't develop symptoms
