DES MOINES, Iowa —
Central Iowa voters are set to decide on local leadership and school funding in the November 2025 election, which will impact city management and local tax spending.
Drake University public administration professor Lance Noe said, "Our local elected officials are actually having the biggest impact on your life."
He explained that local officials make decisions about public safety, school budgets, street repairs, and local taxes, shaping communities in ways national politics cannot.
Noe added, "They're creating the whole environment that determines the growth rate and the sustainability in the broadest sense of your community. Those decisions are critical."
Several school districts are asking voters to approve new funding plans for building upgrades. The Southeast Po
