KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Police have opened an investigation into a fatal shooting in Kansas City’s Scarritt Point neighborhood.

The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department says that just before 7:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 6, emergency crews were called to the area of Morrell Ave. between S. Jackson and Monroe with reports of a shooting.

When first responders arrived, they said they found at least one individual who had suffered a gunshot wound. They have been pronounced deceased.

As of 8:30 p.m., no further information has been released as law enforcement officials continue to respond to the scene.
