CEDAR CITY, Utah (ABC4) — Utah families are getting ready to send their children back to school. But for some, the financial burden to get a child ready for school is just too much. That’s when groups in the community step in to fill the void. On Friday, the Iron County School District Foundation took 45 children shopping.
This was the Iron County School District foundation’s first back to school shopping event, and it was a huge success. The group of 45 children, teachers and volunteers shopped the Kohls in Cedar City before it opened. Armed with $150 gift cards, the children and adults got to work. They bought clothes, shoes, and back to school essentials.
It was a wonderful morning with an important goal: get the children ready to learn.
