MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A grand jury has decided that there is enough evidence to proceed with a trial against a Memphis man accused of breaking into a woman’s home, kidnapping both her and her baby, and torturing them for ransom money.

Shelby County Court records show that the suspect, 38-year-old Antonio Stevison, has a history of felony arrests, the latest of which occurred on July 17, three days after a woman walked into a Memphis police station and said she and her one-year-old were just released from an abduction.

Police noted that the mother and child had visible cuts and bruises on their bodies.

The victim said her captor, whom she identified as Stevison, showed up at her house and busted out a window on July 13.
