COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Plans for a new inclusive playground in Irmo are underway. It will be called the Cross Buck Play space and will be added to the Rawls Creek Park.
The new playground is being designed for children and adults with special needs.
The goal, according to organizers, is to craft something that will benefit all members of this community, young and old. From inclusive swings, toys, musical features, and even slides, children of all ages have played a major role in deciding what they wanted to see in this new park.
During the “Come Play with Us” two-day charette, local architects, children and adults from 5-22, and community leaders gathered to share ideas and concepts to help design the future playground. They had one goal in mind: ensuring every child has the opportunity
